It’s stressful when your kids get sick. This is your guide.

Like many parents, you’re probably hungry for more natural approaches to keeping your kids healthy — but it’s stressful (and can be scary) when your kids get sick. Without a guide, it can be overwhelming to think of alternatives to measuring out the literal and metaphorical cough syrup. Heal Your Kids With Acupressure gives you the knowledge and peace of mind to take control and heal your kids naturally.

Acupressure is especially important for kids.

The driving idea behind acupuncture (and therefore acupressure) is that we’re already in possession of everything we need to be well. Rather than focusing on what’s not there, and adding stuff to fill the gap, acupressure takes what’s already there and rearranges it into something positive.

This is an empowering lesson for kids to learn as they’re growing up in a world where pharmaceuticals and other quick-fix interventions are the prevailing form of healthcare. By watching and feeling you heal them with your own hands, your children will internalize the idea that their bodies are strong and capable of self-healing.

Touch facilitates connection between parents and kids.

Acupressure is a potent tool for facilitating connection between parents and their children. Loving touch makes children feel more secure, confident, and capable of intimacy as adults. It makes them less anxious and depressed, and more comfortable in their own skin. Connecting with your children though touch is paramount to their health as adolescents and adults.

Sara Calabro is an acupuncturist and the founder of AcuTake, the first consumer acupuncture publication. She’s also the creator and host of Press This Point, a podcast about the self-healing power of acupuncture points.

Sara discovered acupuncture after working for 10 years as a healthcare business journalist. The experience of covering the pharmaceutical and medical-device industries provided an up-close look at mainstream medicine’s shortcomings and inspired her to explore other perspectives on health.

Upon graduating from Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, Sara practiced acupuncture privately and in community clinics throughout New York and Oregon. These clinical experiences highlighted a need for accessible resources about acupuncture. Sara created AcuTake to discuss acupuncture in a relatable way so that people can use it to improve their daily lives.

In her years of clinical practice and running AcuTake, Sara kept noticing patients’ and readers’ hunger for self-care information. While acupuncture proved effective and fascinating, there remained a desire for tools that people could apply on their own. Sara developed a growing interest in acupressure, leading her to write Heal Your Kids With Acupressure and start Press This Point.
